“What is the matter with you?!” The young girl screamed at the top of her lungs. The boy who was the target of the yelling could do nothing but shrug and defend his point. “How can you do this to him? Is it suppose to be some kind of joke?”

“Katara, calm down. It was an accident.” He started off so nicely but ruined it by saying, “Plus it’s kinda funny.” He laughed for a moment.

“Funny? No, it’s not funny. Sokka, I just spent the last hour trying to convince him that there is no giant flying spider in tent. That it was just Momo.” She lectured to her older brother.

“Like I said. It was an accident.” Sokka raised his arms in defense, “Why are you so concerned about him? Its not like you cared when I drank cactus juice.”

“Thats cause your an idiot.” She responded before turning abruptly and walking back into Zuko’s  tent. She stopped when she saw the fire prince passed out. He was curled up like a child, Momo was trapped in his arms. The poor animal looked tired, as if he had been trying to escape from the death grip of a cuddle.

The water bender walked over and sat down next to Zuko. She took a wet rag from a bucket of water not too far away. She tried to turn him so he was flat on his back but the prince kept protesting. He was mumbling something about not wanting to go to training. Katara rolled her eyes, she brushed his hair off his forehead. The rag was placed as best as it could onto his skin. He kept mumbling incoherently, she ignored him and took the rag off. She placed it back into the bucket, trying to cool it down. Just as she was wringing it out a hand grasped her wrist. She looked startled to see Zuko now on his back looking a her. His eyes were closed, almost as if he was asleep.

“Mother?” He mumbled in a quiet voice. “Mother.”

“No, Zuko.” Katara was in shock but she could help but talk back. To try and snap him out of this. “Its me, Katara.”

“Katara? I like her, she is nice.” He said with a faint smile, “Do you know where mother is at?” He was speaking almost as if he was a child again. Perhaps in his mind he was a child back home.

“No” She shook her head. Katara knew that Zuko’s mother had been missing for years. She couldn’t help but tear up at him calling for her.

“When you find her, could you tell her that I will be out in the courtyard. Uncle wants me to train again.” He smiled and looked up at the ceiling, his eyes still closed. “Tell her I miss her.”
Katara let a couple drops of water fall from her eyes. She brushed her hand against his cheek, she dabbed the cloth on his forehead to help the fever go down. He always acts so tough, but he was really just a scared child deep inside. She couldn’t help but cry for him. His pride will never allow tears to run down his face, even for his Mother.

“Hey, Katara. Is he okay?” Sokka came walked in. In a brief second the waterbender whipped around, the water from the pale followed at incredible speeds. It formed ice in mid air knocking her brother out of the tent. It was instinctual, its not like she planned to do that to her brother, although he had been the cause of all this. Sokka lied a few feet away, now soaked since the ice turned back into water when Katara realized what happened. “Women.”
